Great topper. We bought it to use on top of a hide bed mattress. It turned the absolute most uncomfortable bed into a night of comfort and great rest. A little heavy to have to put on and off each night but well worth the effort. This topper would be even more awesome on a regular bed. Didn't notice any smell but it had been airing out for approx 5 days prior to use.
