I bought this to go along with my portable GE washer and my GE spacemaker dryer. It does what it's supposed to: It provides a shelf for the dryer, so that I can stack it above the top-loading washer.

A few observations:

- I have it sitting on floor tile that is fairly slippery. I also have the portable version of the washer, not the stationary. The wheels of my portable washer do not even touch the supports at the bottom of the stack rack, so the washer does not help weigh it down. Due to these factors, the rack can be moved quite easily. The dryer is in no danger of falling (it's secured to the rack), and the rack is in no danger of tipping over (it's in a closet-sized space), but the supports at the bottom of the rack will slide around easily, with little effort on my part. I put weights down at the back where there is more room, but need to find something small that will weigh down the front as well. (The delivery guy said that usually he sees this set up on carpet or hardwood, with the stationary washer, and it stays put.)

- As you can see in the picture, there are cross-supports that connect the vertical poles. Keep in mind when measuring your laundry space that the back of the washing machine does not line up with the back of the rack. The inner cross-support is six inches from the back. So if you have the matching washer, it will stick out at least that much farther than your dryer. If you need to buy longer fill hoses as I did (so that I could wheel the washer out far enough to get behind it and hook up the hoses), they take up more space so the washer may stick out even farther. Plus, the rack itself is not flush against the back wall, because of the need to leave room for the dryer vent hose. These are not issues for me, but are things to keep in mind if you have a small laundry space.

- The top of the rack sways back and forth a bit when you open the dryer door, and it does the same when the dryer is running (which sometimes causes a rhythmic squeaking noise). I don't think weighing it down at the bottom will alleviate this; it's just due to the design.

All in all - it does what it's designed for, so I'm fine with it. I didn't have many options to choose from, in terms of a small dryer that I could stack above the washer, and I needed this rack to stack the dryer. I'm not crazy about the dryer itself but that's a separate review.
