Really awesome, modern design. Was easy to put together and had no difficulties with alignment, hardware, etc... Easily becomes a conversation piece in any room with its unexpected design. I placed mine caddy-corner in my bedroom so that upon entering, you get a view of both "sides." If you arrange it in this way, and have items facing the two perpendicular directions then it immediately prompts people to come over and investigate. This makes it a great starting point for engaging visitors with your book (or knick-knack, memorabilia, etc...) collection. One detail that isn't quite as apparent from the photos is the finish on the laminate. Not only is the color a deep, rich hue but the patterning also gives the piece some visual sense of texture. It's not actually textured, but the color pattern is done so well you have to actually touch it to convince yourself that it's not. All in all, a great piece to have.

UC BERKELEY Diploma Frame with Artwork in Classic Black Frame Review

I found this frame when I was a graduate student and convinced a group of friends to buy it as my graduation gift. It looked so good on my office wall that I purchased another one the following year for my undergraduate university. The frames from Old School Diploma Frame Company look better than any others that I've found, including the more expensive ones at the university bookstore. There are two things that I really like about them. First, the art print is a lithograph of a classic, high quality, pen and ink watercolor drawing, unlike some similar frames that use a cartoonish computer generated image. Second, the two layers of mat board are in my school colors. Since graduation, I've sometimes displayed the frames in my business office, sometimes in my home office, and they've always been a nice addition to my decor. This product is a great graduation gift or a nice treat to reward your own academic accomplishment.

The picture does not do this clock justice. This clock is beautiful. If you are looking for a real antique distressed style and one to really make a statement, this is it. The metal work around the face is very unique and could appear like original craftsmanship. The metal is painted to give the appearance of antique copper with hints of burgundy, golds and browns. My family room has an Old World Tuscan style to it and this clock has now become the focal point over the mantle. Gorgeous.

Yaxell Gou 3-1/2-Inch Paring Knife, 1-Count Review

As a present I got a Yaxell Zen Slicer 10 inches, as a sushi knife, that is 37 layers of Damascus steel and it was an unbelievable knife; the best knife I ever used. So, I got interested in the Ran and Gou knives and I realized how amazing these knives are. So I went a bit crazy and bought the expensive Gou 8 inch chef knife. First of all, it looks amazing. Literally, a work of art. Like the Mona Lisa of knives. The first thing I cut with it were hard carrots. I thought that the carrots were spoiled because the knife cut them so smoothly that I had to check the carrots again and again to make sure they were hard. This knife is unbelievable. And with all due respect to Shun, Global and all the rest, as a chef I have worked with all of them, this one is a million times better. Second, the handle has an amazing grip, visually, sharpness, it is the perfect knife for me. So I am advising you all to put a bit more money and you will get the best knife ever. By the way, my list of knives has increased right now, so I will probably purchase the 5" utility knife and the 6.5" santoku knife Ran or Gou, depending on my budget. Whoever owns these knives, please write reviews for the other consumers. There is not enough reviews for these knives.

BonJour Stainless Steel Clad 2.5-Quart Covered Saucier Review

Interesting pot.....very heavy, I am still amazed by the weight, and I have used it almost daily, looks a lot lighter than it is. Great value, compared to AllClad. Quality construction and beautiful appearence, very well finished. Heats slowly and very evenly, exactly what you need for a saucier. Contour is perfect, rounded bottom with small flat center section, allows flame to heat evenly and still enough flat to be stable on burner, tri clad construction, but seems to have a slightly heavier SS bottom layer, so the response time is slightly slower than the All Clad version, works very well for its intended purpose. Only downside is that a 2 qt. size would work better for me. The lid is amazing well built, very heavy, very straight and flat on connecting surfaces. If you let any liquid cool down with the lid on, the suction created will make it very hard to remove lid, as well if you set the lid on a flat surface with any moisture on either surface. Not sure if this is a negative feature or a simply a residue of outstanding construction. In any case out of 30 or so pots, pan, etc. this has become a favorite.
