I got these over a year ago. I will tell you that they have been great.

They are Japanese-style, so a little thinner and lighter than some of their German counterparts. They are nice and sharp, make prep-work a breeze.

I was a little weary of the connection between the blade and handle, but I use them every day for cooking, as does my wife, and we have not had any issues. They are solid, and considering the cost, I would highly recommend them.

I purchased the All-Clad D5 2-quart saute pan (with lid) specifically for making braised fish and braised vegetable recipes. A classic braised recipe is browned at high heat, and then finished in a liquid (often with vegetables added), with a lid on the saute pan. The All-Clad D5 2-quart saute pan serves this purpose very well.

This pan almost appears to have a slightly greater capacity than two quarts. It is visually large. Its rolled circumferential pouring rim increases its overall diameter to 8 and 3/4 inches (22.3 cm), despite having an inner diameter of exactly eight inches (20.3 cm). Its handle is unusually long (at 9 inches), even longer than the handle on a 12-inch All-Clad LTD Chef's Pan. This longer handle is also slightly more ergonomic, because it is slighter wider. Thus, there is slightly less of a tendency for the upper edges of the handle to press uncomfortably into the palm of cook's hand. Nevertheless, All-Clad's U-channel handle design is unlikely to ever win an award for ergonomic design.

Here are the remaining dimensions. The interior depth of the pan is 2.5 inches (6.5 cm). With the lid in place, its total height is exactly four inches (10.1 cm). The lid weighs 1.03 pounds (465 grams) and the pan (alone) weighs 2.5 pounds (1136 grams). Thus, the combined weight of lid and pan is 3.5 pounds (1601 grams).

How well does it cook? It cooks very well. The exterior bottom (because of the rounded junction of the walls curving to meet the bottom) is a good fit on the 7.25-inch burners of my electric stove. Thus, there is uniform browning of braised foods. Here is a surprise: This pan makes great omelettes, with absolutely no sticking of egg, and using only a half-teaspoon of butter or oil.

Why did I prepare an omelette in a saute pan? After removing the saute pan from its carton, and washing it in hot soapy water, I dried it with a towel, and noticed that its cooking surface had a rather dried-out appearance. I decided to initiate the pan, by cooking something that required minimal preparation. While pre-heating the pan on one-third of the burner's heat output, I prepared an omelette mixture. When I splashed a couple of drops of water into the pan, the droplets hissed loudly, and disappeared instantly. Something was wrong. Again, I noticed the dried-out appearance of the pan. I added a half-teaspoon of butter to the pan, and smeared the butter inside the pan, using a small piece of a paper towel. Now, the pan glistened beautifully. When I splashed a couple more drops of water into the pan, the droplets skated beautifully across the surface. I poured in the two-egg omelette mixture, and noticed that, in less than 10 seconds, it was ready to flip. Holy cow! Following some some quick spatula work, the omelette was finished and out of the pan, within 30 seconds. There was absolutely no sticking.

I ordered the rectangular version of this table and chairs set even after reading the other reviews. This was after my husband said that he could get it together no problem. When the table and chairs arrived my husband was busy, so I tried putting everything together. I had a hard time getting all the screws in and was close to stripping the heads as well. My husband helped me out. He backed out all the screws, applied soap to them as lubrication (i.e., from a bar of bath soap) and screwed them back in. The table and chairs are as sturdy as can be and the quality of wood is wonderful (especially for the price...most sets I looked into were in the $300 to $500 range). I would recommend this product.

Powell Contemporary Merlot Cheval Mirror Review

First off the color of the finish in the picture is a lot lighter than what I received. I understand that often the colors rendered on the internet do not match reality, but, the wood is so much darker it makes me wonder if maybe there is more than one finish available and I ended up with the darker one.

The WORST part of this, however, is how the thing went together. The wood making up the stand was not cut properly. I had to do some filing here and there to make fit properly. After spending $250 on this I would of thought that the parts would at least fit!

Very Disappointed.
